Our History
Hyatt House - The Beginning
Hyatt Corporation opened its first hotel on September 27, 1957. Hyatt House was a small motor lodge near the Los Angeles International Airport. The owner of Hyatt House was a local entrepreneur by the name of Hyatt R. von Dehn.
Hyatt Regency Hong Kong –First International Hotel
1969 saw the opening of Hyatt’s first international hotel, the Hyatt Regency Hong Kong. Hyatt Regency® hotels are a core brand of Hyatt Hotels & Resorts®, offering guests opportunities to broaden their horizons, relax and rejuvenate in style.

Hyatt Vacation Club Introduced
Hyatt entered the vacation ownership industry in 1994. The following year, Hyatt opened its first Vacation Club property, Sunset Harbor, in Key West, Florida to much acclaim.
Hyatt Opens 13 More Vacation Club Resorts
As demand for Hyatt’s unique vacation offerings soared, 1998-2008 witnessed the opening of additional Hyatt Vacation Club resort residences at an average rate of more than two per year.
